The planning center will close on July 1.
The company said it will begin “continuous maintenance” of the facility, which will also be closed to customers.
“The plan will remain open to the public until we can safely close it,” the company said in a statement.
The plan will continue to operate online through 2019, the company added.
In 2019, New York City announced plans to shut the city’s online planning center to protect against a new threat to the city: ransomware.
“We are taking steps to ensure the continued operation of the city planning center for public safety purposes,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said in the announcement.
The city shut down the center in June 2019, saying the plan was no longer in the public interest.
As part of its shutdown, the city will not be able to sell or rent planning software and other services to residents.
The center will also cease to offer online access to its own web site.
According to the Associated Press, the plan is the first time the city has shut down its online planning program in a decade.
The city also shut down an online planning office in 2015.
“We are not closing our doors for any reason,” Mayor de Blasio told reporters after the announcement on Tuesday.
“What we are doing is trying to make sure that our city centers are open, and our city services are there.”
In 2017, the state of New York shut down one of the country’s largest online planning companies, GISWorks, in a bid to combat the threat of ransomware.
However, as the country continues to deal with ransomware, New Yorkers will be able again to use the city-owned planning center.
