When a smartphone plan is on sale, you can use the plan’s date to figure out if you should buy it now or when it’s a good time to do so.
You’ll also want to check your monthly usage to see if you’re being overcharged or undercharged for your plan.
To help you figure out when you should start saving, we’ve compiled a list of the best mobile plan options for the coming year.
Verizon Wireless’ Ultimate Mobile Plan: Unlimited for $70 per month You’ll get unlimited talk, text, and data for the first two months of the plan, and then it’s throttled for the rest of the year.
While you can save $30 a month with a two-year plan, it’s still more expensive than a standard two-month plan.
With that in mind, we’re choosing the $70 plan from Verizon because of its low monthly costs, but you can also save money by purchasing an individual plan.
AT&T Wireless’ Unlimited Mobile Plan with Unlimited Data: Unlimited Data for $80 per month For $80 a month, you get unlimited text and data, and you can activate a two year contract to extend that.
It’s a bit pricey, but it’s also a great deal when you consider it will save you $40 a month.
Verizon’s Ultimate Mobile Plans: $80 for $90 a month (and up) Unlimited data and talk for $100 a month You can also get the unlimited data plan for $160 a month when you sign up for the plan.
You can add on additional data for $20 a month if you plan to pay for it in monthly installments.
You also get $100 in credit for every $100 you spend.
It might sound like a lot, but the $160 plan from AT&t is one of the most affordable plans we’ve seen for unlimited data, according to Verizon.
T-Mobile’s Ultimate Wireless Plan: $90 per month for $110 a month Unlimited talk, texting, and 4G data for a $120 per month deal.
It can be pricey for a basic plan, but we’ve found it’s usually cheaper than other plans if you buy the plan from a carrier.
TMobile’s $100 Value plan: Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data for just $80 Monthly installments are $50 a month or $100 for $200 a month for unlimited talk and texting.
It doesn’t have a contract, but if you use the data for an extended period, you’ll get a credit for the excess.
Sprint’s $110 Value plan (all plans): Unlimited Talk and Text for $150 a month Monthly installments range from $60 to $100.
You get $50 for every extra $100 spent.
AT & T’s $120 Value plan for unlimited text: Unlimited talk and text for $120 a month With this plan, you have the option of either a one-time monthly payment of $50 or a monthly installment of $100 per month.
If you buy from a company that has a $60 plan, the monthly payment is $100 instead of $60.
TECO Mobile’s $150 Value plan with unlimited talk: Unlimited text for unlimited $100 monthly payments $150 for $300 monthly installments Monthly payments range from just $60 up to $300.
Sprint/TECO’s $60 Value plan without unlimited text for 1-year unlimited $150 monthly payments Monthly payments are $100 with monthly installments or $150 without monthly installments for unlimited texting, talk, and unlimited data.
