The Big Three have offered incentives for new customers to sign up for their own boxes as part of a move to push up data plans.
In a letter sent to subscribers on Tuesday, the Big 3 said it would offer a $5,000 rebate if they sign up with the Big Four and the Cigna Networks.
“The offer is aimed at helping those who have a limited data allowance to achieve the maximum data-usage of their plans,” the letter said.
“The Big Three offer includes the ability to combine the benefit of the two plan offerings into one new plan and to receive the same value for the combined data-plan package,” the Big Six said.
The letter also said that the Big Five offer would “upgrade and expand” a previous offer to allow subscribers to receive “a combined data plan of $60 a month or $80 a month with a data usage cap of 25GB per month”.
The Big Six offered similar incentives last year.
The Big Five and Big Six are offering incentives for customers who sign up on the new plans, which will be launched on October 13.
This is a big deal for the Big 4 and the Big 5 who already have a robust data package.
The Big 4 already offers unlimited data for $50 a month, while the Big 6 offers unlimited high-speed data for around $100 a month.
